Winter Nights Out

You know what sucks? The temperature difference from the wintery, frozen streets of Minneapolis and the inside of a club/bar. It's that time of the year where you can't leave the house without being bundled up! Yet, it's that time of the college year where we all love to go out after a long week. So, what the heck am I suppose to wear? I can't walk from the car or the cab without a jacket, especially with the outfits I prefer to wear out. I mean, I do the leggings or tights and the high boots in my attempt to look good and still stay warm, but that doesn't really cut it. I have no desire to wear a sweater or even a long sleeve shirt to a club and especially at my favorite spot-the dance floor. If I bring my winter jacket, and there is no coat check, what am I suppose to do? Carry around the giant down coat that is also big enough to be a parka? No. If I put it down, it might become stolen (it has happened before). So what is a girl to do?

Oh yeah, that's right- Buy cute cheap stuff! ...And we're back to me raving about my favorite goodwill spot... I've picked up several jackets over the past few months, especially in fall, and I've been wearing these out this winter. Now, these jackets aren't winter jackets by any means, but that's okay. Why? Because if I lose one when I go out, I put it down, it becomes stolen, it doesn't matter-I paid $5.00 for each of them. We all have a general sense of economics...small investment=small potential loss.

I've seen girls lose $300 winter coats. Not something I want to happen and ruin my night out. The little coats I'm buying are simple solid classic jackets that go with anything, but at the same time they are simple solid classic cheap jackets. If I lose one, I won't be out the same dollar amount as a real full blown winter coat. Again, small investment=small potential loss. And you're going to take it off anyway! Save your money for the parts of your outfit that are under that jacket ;)
